1. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email, phone, role, company details and preferences.
- Verification documents: identity documents, certificates, insurance evidence and related metadata (inspectors/companies).
- Transaction data: requests, bookings, messages, reports, offers and related metadata.
- Payment data: processed by Stripe; we receive limited payment status, last4/brand where provided, and payout identifiers โ not full card numbers.
- Technical / cookie data: device/browser type, IP address, approximate location, and analytics events (see Cookies).
2. Legal bases (UK GDPR)
Depending on the activity we rely on: contract performance; legitimate interests (security, product improvement, fraud prevention); consent (non-essential cookies/marketing); and legal obligation (tax, accounting, law enforcement requests).
3. How we use information
- Operate matching, messaging, scheduling and reporting;
- Verify inspector qualifications where applicable;
- Process payments and prevent fraud;
- Improve reliability, security and user experience;
- Communicate service updates and โ where allowed โ marketing;
- Support AI-assisted matching or ranking only as an aid; significant automated decisions with legal/similar effects will be explained and challengeable where required by law.
4. Sharing
We share data with processors who host infrastructure, email, analytics, customer support and payments (including Stripe), under appropriate agreements. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell personal data.
5. International transfers
Where data is transferred outside the UK, we use appropriate safeguards such as UK IDTA / Addendum or adequacy regulations, as applicable.
6. Retention
- Account profiles: while active and for a reasonable period after closure.
- Financial records: typically up to 6 years (UK tax/accounting).
- Verification documents: while needed for onboarding/compliance, then deleted or minimised.
- Messages and reports: while accounts remain and as needed for disputes.
- Support tickets: typically up to 24 months after closure unless longer needed.
7. Cookies

8. Security
We implement administrative, technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data. No method of transmission is 100% secure.

10. Children
Services are not directed to children under 16. Contact us if you believe information was collected inappropriately.
